Encountering Christ leads to life change. A disciple follows Christ closely, learns from Him, and strives to live like him. Guided by the Spirit and relying on sacramental grace, a disciple grows spiritually, intellectually, and in human virtue. Accompanied by a mentor, a disciple experiences maturation in the faith and prepares to be sent.
Evangelization is not the sole responsibility of the few who are graced with extraordinary gifts and talents for preaching and teaching. Each one of us, as sons and daughters of God, as members of this one body of Christ, possesses a missionary identity, and apostolic identity. "The Church is missionary by her very nature, for Christ's mandate is not something contingent or external, but reaches the very heart of the Church" (Redemptoris Missio, 62)
